REFLEXIONS MARGINALS, MINIMALISME
(Marginal Reflections, Minimalism) The photographs in this exhibition evoke the methacrylate or glass boxes used to protect objects exhibited in museums or exhibition halls, as well as the marginal reflections that are generated. If we look at the drawings generated by the lights and shadows projected by the transparent cubes or hexahedrons, primary modular geometric structures appear. These unwanted reflections are an inherent part of the presentation of the works of art themselves, encompassing a space that goes beyond the objects. When making the images, everything extraneous to the objectives sought has been eliminated, achieving maximum simplicity and giving rise to what is known as the minimalist artistic movement. To create these images, the positioning of the cubes with respect to the light source, the point of representation or view, the angle of view and the position of the projection plane have been modified.
GUILLEM TORNÉ AGUSTÍ (1951). ATYPICAL CONCEPTUAL PHOTOGRAPHER Doctor of Fine Arts from the University of Barcelona and honorary professor, GuillemTorné has dedicated much of his career to reflection on representation as a communication tool. His teaching experience at the Faculty of Fine Arts has led him to delve deeper into the need to train critical viewers, capable of interpreting images with awareness and sensitivity. He uses photography as a means to materialize his reflections on theories of the visual image. His work questions central projection and explores formal structures, light and shadow, as well as mechanisms of perception. With a refined and minimalist aesthetic, his works invite us to observe carefully and question the way we perceive the world. With 18 individual exhibitions in galleries, museums and photography competitions, as well as extensive participation in collective exhibitions, his work has consolidated itself within the panorama of conceptual photography. At the same time, he has developed an intense outreach activity, giving conferences and talks in museums, archives, libraries, athenaeums and other cultural spaces
