Contemplating Time, Ann Francis, Ireland

Hiltopia Art Squarea Gallery in Tokyo, Japan hosted on Wednesday 05 October 2022, 18:00 local time (12:00 RO time) the opening of the exhibition of photographic artists from Japan and Romania entitled "People and landscapes from Romania and Japan" dedicated to the anniversary of 100 years of diplomacy between Romania and Japan. The exhibition organized under the patronage of the Embassy of Romania in Japan by the International Association "Euro Photo Art" (AIEFA), in partnership with the Japanese Photographic Society (PSJ) and the Japan-Romania Society, with the support of Summit Agro Romania, part of the global Japanese corporation Sumitomo, includes 100 of photographs taken by renowned photographic artists from the two countries. The public present at the event was greeted by PSJ president Mr. Yoshikazu Aoki who together with PSJ general director Akiko Igaja appreciated the initiative of organizing this international exhibition. The Ambassador of Romania to Japan, His Excellency Ovidiu Dranga, emphasized in his speech "The beautiful photographs capture the spirit of the land and the people of both countries, building an imaginary bridge over space and time. We express our deepest appreciation for the dedication and hard work put into this exhibition by the Photographic Society of Japan, led by President Aoki, and the Euro Photo Art Association in Romania, led by President Toth." In conclusion, the Romanian diplomat presented the message sent by Mrs. Biró Rozália, the president of the Committee for Foreign Affairs, Chamber of Deputies, Bucharest, the initiator of this anniversary project. Next, the representative of the Japan-Romania Parliamentary Friendship Association Jiro Hata and the photographer artist Ștefan Tóth István AFIAP, ESFIAP, the president of AIEF, who was impressed by the fact that the two openings of the international exhibition in Oradea (RO) and Tokio (JP) enjoyed the patronage of the Embassies of the two countries. Also appreciated the fact that the ambassadors of the two countries honored these openings with their presence and gave anniversary speeches. In conclusion, he thanked the photographic artists from Japan for the partnership developed under his leadership since 2005 between the photographic artists from the two countries. Mrs. Dr. Ing. Patricia Știrbu President of "Summit Agro" Romania, Bulgaria, Adria and the Republic of Moldova (the official sponsor of the events in Oradea and Tokyo) appreciated the special collaboration with AIEFA, which made it possible to organize this international project and handed the partners from Japan and Romania the jubilee silver medals issued by the National Bank of Romania on the occasion of the centenary anniversary. General Manager of AgriScience Division of Sumitomo Corporation in Japan Mr. Tasaki Tanaka appreciated the initiative of organizing the anniversary event which he was invited to attend.Next, the renowned photographer artist from Tokyo Kosei Maya spoke, the author of the personal exhibition installed in the adjacent hall, who has visited and photographed wonderful picturesque places in Maramureș 2,000 (!) times. The anniversary event was also attended by E.S. Mr. Mr. Dumitru Socolan, the extraordinary ambassador of the Republic of Moldova and the representative of the Romanian Patriarchate in Japan, priest Daniel Corîu. At the end of the opening, violinist Taneshiko Sekijima performed more pieces from the Romanian repertoire. The atmosphere of the anniversary event was colored by the presence of two photographers from the two countries, dressed in the national costume of Japan: kimono (Keiko Sato AFIAP, ESFIAP), respectively Mrs. Ileana Dușe (AIEFA member) dressed in a folk costume from Maramureș. The opening was broadcast online from the AIEFA address https://www.facebook.com/EuroFotoArtAssociation/videos/498047998840206 At the departure, the audience present at the event received a gift consisting of the jubilee album of the exhibition, (which also included a flyer of 4 printed pages entitled "Cultural bridge between Romania and Japan"), by the photographer artist Ștefan Tóth István AFIAP,ESFIAP entitled "Momente surprinse" as well as printed tourist advertisements of the municipality offered by the Association for the Promotion of Tourism in Oradea and Surroundings.
