THE OPENING OF THE PERSONAL PHOTOGRAPHIC ART EXHIBITION ADRIANA CEAUSECU (A) ENTITLED "PEOPLE AND PLACES"

On Tuesday, November 7, 2023, at 5:00 PM, the "Euro Foto Art" Gallery, the Exhibition Center of the International Federation of Photographic Art (FIAP) in Oradea, Romania, hosted the opening of the exhibition by photographer Adriana Ceaușescu, currently residing in Vienna. Dr. Ionuț Ciorba, head of the Oradea City Museum section, welcomed the audience and expressed gratitude to the International Association "Euro Foto Art" (AIEFA) for organizing exhibitions showcasing the works of photographers from around the world. He also appreciated the effort to bring a remarkable exhibition from Vienna to Oradea. Seventy-two photographs were displayed in Romania’s longest-standing Permanent Gallery of Photographic Art, grouped under the theme "People and Places." All the exhibited images can be viewed online at Euro Foto Art. The exhibition was organized by AIEFA in partnership with Summit Agro Romania (SAROM) and the Criș Land Museum Oradea through its Oradea City Museum section, under the auspices of the International Federation of Photographic Art, recognized by UNESCO. In his speech, artist photographer Ștefan Tóth István AFIAP, ESFIAP, highlighted, "For one month, the public will have the opportunity to admire a series of outstanding photographs, many of which have been awarded in various international photographic art projects. I commend the photographer for demonstrating her ability to 'paint' visually, compose with precision, and provoke viewers to engage deeply with her photographs. It is deeply regrettable that the artist was unable to attend this extraordinary event." Art critic Dr. Ramona Novicov noted during the opening, "I was delighted to receive the invitation to open Adriana Ceaușescu's exhibition. It is a pleasure to discover in this exhibition a variety of photographic art genres intersecting. As the author herself acknowledges, she is at the beginning of her journey, experimenting with different creative approaches, and has yet to settle on a particular genre she feels most attached to". Szűcs László, editor-in-chief of Új Várad magazine, remarked in his address, "Today we witness the opening of an exhibition with a diverse thematic range. At first glance, it feels like a group exhibition by multiple photographers, offering a variety of visual material. However, upon closer examination, one senses that the images communicate with visitors and create a unified message, allowing us to experience the pleasing harmony of vision." Musical moments during the event were provided by violist Thurzó Sándor József from the "Duo Sola Fide" Cultural Group in Oradea. His repertoire included "Andante cantabile" by K.D. von Dittersdorf, "Adieu" by Fr. Schubert, and a lullaby by Zeno Vancea. The exhibition will remain open to the public at the Oradea City Museum section until December 7, 2023. Visiting hours are Tuesday to Sunday, from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Additionally, the exhibited works will be displayed on the city’s public transport screens, thanks to a protocol between AIEFA and OTL SA.
