Starting with July 22 2020, the photography loving public in Oradea had the opportunity of admiring a great photography exhibition from the Republic of Moldova, hosted by the longest continuously operating photographic gallery from Romania: the “Euro Foto Art” Gallery - FIAP Exhibition Center Oradea-Romania (1 Decembrie Square). This time, in the halls of the well-known gallery, the works of the renowned photographer from Chișinău (MD) - Iurie FOCA, have been presented. Iurie FOCA is the vice president of the “Euro Foto Art” Association for the Republic of Moldova, as well as an active member of the International Association from Oradea. He was born on the 14th of September 1957 in the village of Sofia - Republic of Moldova. He was employed as a photo-reporter for various newspapers in his home country. Today he is in charge of the photography laboratory of the National Art Museum of Moldova. He has collaborated with the “Fotomoldpress” National Agency, various cultural magazines in Moldova, UNICEF, OSCE, different embassies in Chișinău. With his works, he took part in numerous International Photography Salons organized in Austria, Brazil, Czech Republic, Egypt, France, Japan, Macedonia, the United Kingdom, Republic of Moldova, Poland, Romania, Russia, Ukraine and others. His works always returned with prizes and medals from these Salons. From his works, multiple personal exhibitions have been organized in Moldova and Romania. He is a member of the Fine Art Artist Union in Moldova. He has been the author and co-author of over 80 albums published in Israel, Moldova, Romania and Russia, some of which have been awarded with the State Prize of the Republic of Moldova and the Ministry of Culture of Moldova. Iurie FOCA takes great pleasure in photographing in various styles. He has a great sensibility for the photographic essay or social photography. He is also drawn towards portrait or artistic reportage, as well as landscapes - that are distinguished by his use of light or special composition of the images he creates. Originality and “living the moment” can be felt radiating from his works. He always knew how to approach and collaborate with his subjects. Having the chance to see the photos presented in Oradea multiple times, I could realize that the works of the artist are truly jewels of “capturing the moment”, his stories showing great craftsmanship, as well as “the art of thought” through which the photographed elements have been used to great results. Knowing the sensibility and character of the exhibiting photographer, we can reach the conclusion that the photographs of Iurie FOCA are a mirror to his extremely sensible soul, with which he created his images in the past four decades. The opening of the exhibition took place on July 22 2020, from 06:00 p.m. hour and could be followed online on the Facebook page of the “Euro Foto Art” International Association: https://www.facebook.com/EuroFotoArtAsociatieInter.... Participants to the exhibitions were greeted by the president of the “Euro Foto Art’ International Association - Ștefan Tóth AFIAP, who presented the Patronage Certificate of the “Euro Foto Art” International Association number 023/2020 offered to the exhibiting photographer, as well as the FIAP auspices certificate. Unfortunately the author of the exhibition could not be present, due to restrictions in border crossing in force at the moment. His works were presented by Dr. Ramona Novicov, art critic, who appreciated the technical and artistic skill of the photographs, as well as their complexity through which one can feel the sensibility of the visual storytelling, that draw the public towards admiring them.
