CU «Photographic Art Association of Transcarpathia» (Ukraine) have presented on the 13th of August in The Carpathian FEC the photo exhibition by Pedro Luis Ajuriaguerra Saiz (Bilbao, Bizkaia, Spain). This event was organized within the project of the Carpathian FIAP Exhibition Center «World supports Ukrainian artists».

Here's what Pedro Luis Ajuriaguerra Saiz (EFIAP/p) say about his project «Insects – the Little Strangers» presented in The Carpathian FEC: «Thanks to Macrophotography we can discover and appreciate details that are hidden from us. In the showed project I have photographed different insects giving them great prominence and showing their singular beauty. All kinds of insects, Dragonflies, Devil's Horses, Butterflies, Spiders, Coleoptera, Wasps, Mosquitoes, Flies etc., each one of them, are very extravagant and beautiful, with a multitude of details. We can see a “Monster” damselfly that with the drops of dew transforms into a portrait of a snow yeti-like monster or whatever your imagination suggests. For example, the two beetles facing each other as if it were a boxing match with their antennae as if they were gloves or remind us of that being from the Ridley Scott movie, do you remember ALIEN? The buzzing mosquito with its beautiful feather duster in its hair, hence its Latin name chironomus plumosus, it can even remind us of Rosy from Fraggle Rock; the small moth that reminds us of a rodent, where its ears have been replaced by antennae; the Asian hornet showing defiance with its might; the red dragonfly that looks as if he will be wearing a cap with music helmets as a rapper or even a pilot where his wings are the plane and his eyes are the helmet and his legs are his hands piloting etc.

The little jumping spider with its bulging eyes and spiky hair that seems to tell us here I am or taken from a Sesame Street character. Butterflies with their beauty and details that show us their fragility. Well, in short, get closer to these insects and try to surprise you with their beauty and singularities».

The inspired participants of the vernissage  excited with their phantasmagorical discussions the visitors of the exposition, highlighting its relevance – both for the restoration of the mutilated Ukrainian ecosystem and the spiritual state of Ukrainians. The extravagance and charm of the photo exhibition "Insects - Little Strangers" is designed to structure the psycho-emotional state of Ukrainian citizens in order to defeat the aggressor. The exhibition will last till August 23th, 2023.
